The Disillusionists cont'd...
I woke up back at my place and barely recognized it. Had it really been only one night? Later, the landlady invited me upstairs for a bottle of wine. Her kids had just left to stay with their dad for a couple of weeks and Denise was acting fast. Then she claimed I was hittin' on her friend Louise, who for the record had a butt the size of a bus. Denise went to bed leaving me and what's her name sitting there like a couple of stooges so I went downstairs and started reading the script -
WHAT BECOMES AN ELEPHANT
EXT. MORNING - OCEANSIDE/PACIFIC NORTHWEST
Giant surf pounds the rocky foreshore. The foam and spray beat relentlessly against the land; an ancient rhythm since before mankind...
EXT. MORNING - OCEANSIDE - PANNING
We scan the horizon - revealing the scope and majesty of the location. SOUNDTRACK FADES IN: Moody, orchestro-electronic music complements the scene.
TITLES FADE IN:
What Becomes An Elephant
A film by Mike Wadd
EXT. MORNING - OCEANSIDE
A view of the water with rocky foreshore. Suddenly a cowboy hat appears and bobs (apparently) on the water
EXT. MORNING - ZOOM
From our perspective, slowly, THE COWBOY's face, shoulders and eventually the rest of his body appears - as he walks towards us. His costume is dry. The SOUNDTRACK underscores that this is the birth of mankind...
Whatever... It was getting kind of late but I picked up the phone anyway and called May. "I knew you were in as soon as I thought of you!" She screamed through the line into my ear.
